Abhijeet Patil

Abhijeet is certified PMP, CISA, CISSP and BS7799 Lead Auditor with 17 years of total experience and 14 years of extensive experience in delivering IT Audit and Assurance Services, Risk Consulting Services and Special Projects for strategic clients.

Abhijeet specializes in Information Systems Process and Controls audits, Information Systems Security audits, SOX 404 compliance, IT operations, systems and network administration. He is expert at general IT controls reviews including database security reviews (Oracle 9i/10g, MS SQL 2000/2005/2008, Sybase, Progress), operating systems security reviews (Windows, AIX, AS400, Unix), custom application security reviews (Globus, Equation), business process reviews, controls assessments, FFIEC reviews and also has hands-on practical experience in applying the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Attestation Standards including the Statement on Auditing Standards (SSAE 16 and SSAE 18) for SOC 1/SOC 2 reports.

Abhijeet joined Grant Thornton in 2013 and leads the Attest Services team within the Advisory practice, which includes work streams such as IT Audit Support, Special Attestation Reporting, IT Internal Audit and newly launched sub service line for Cyber Security.

Prior to joining GT, Abhijeet worked with Deloitte for a wide range of multinational clients, primarily in the financial services, energy/utilities, life sciences and manufacturing industries. Abhijeet’s responsibilities included leading and managing service delivery across various advisory engagements including project scoping and staffing for local and international engagements, managing day to day operations and providing oversight to the teams. He was also actively involved in knowledge management, people and talent management initiatives within the firm.

Prior to joining Deloitte, he worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers India Pvt. Ltd. where he provided consulting services, performed information system audits, designed security policies and procedures, conducted reviews of security controls for various operating systems /databases /ERP, conducted reviews of Request for Proposals (RFP) and contract management & compliance.

Abhijeet has also managed team of developers in development and implementation of suite of banking application products for major banks in India during his 3 year tenure at NextStep Infotech Pvt. Ltd. He is well versed in all phases of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Waterfall modeling and Prototype modeling.
