Uday Bhaskar Metkar is a senior, dedicated and competent Plant and Project Management professional with 26 years’ varied experience in the engineering industry, handling handling projects which include Plant Maintenance & Planning, Greenfield Project Management, Erection/ Commissioning, Plant Shutdowns, Cost & Energy Management in Steel Cold Rolling Plants. He has established capability in implementing preventive, planned and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime of various Installations, Equipment, Utilities of Cold Rolling Mills including Pickling Lines, Annealing Furnaces and other Process lines as well as Utilities. He is very conversant with Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Servo Valves, Proportional control valves, Reducing Valves, Relief Valves, Vane Pumps, Axial and Radial Piston Pumps (with flow compensation), Gear Pumps and Hydraulic Motors.

An acknowledged project leader with proven strengths in managing project sites, mobilizing and managing materials, machines and manpower resources to generate the highest productivity levels, proficient in preparing BOQ, and finalizing contracts for Civil, Structural and Equipment/Utilities/Electrical Erection. Uday has developed capabilities in understanding feasibility studies for Steel Cold Rolling projects (Greenfield), functional designing of the of the plant layouts, and technology selection for the units, techno commercial evaluation of selected Capital Machinery & Equipment, Continuous Process Management & Enhancement, Infrastructure planning, Technology Integration and Capital Budgeting.

He has successfully executed a variety of expansion projects and up gradation improvements, achieving substantial reduction in cost & energy consumption, increase in resource optimization, and attaining operational excellence as well as preventing plant de-bottlenecking. In addition he has a strong commercial acumen, is proficient in coordinating and negotiating with vendors, for cost effective purchase of equipment/spares while ensuring the quality of incoming materials in addition to providing vital MIS.

Uday’s in-depth understanding of Quality System Management, concepts and application of TPM, ISO, OHSAS, and 5S, as well as Health & Safety Standards, Quality Compliances and Energy Conservation Methodologies is an added skill.

Uday Bhaskar Metkar has completed his B.E. (Mechanical) from the Govt. College of Engineering, Pune, in 1989. He has also cleared his ICWA (Intermediate).

In addition, he is a resourceful and organized professional with extensive experience in providing technical/logistics support and possessing good analytical and problem solving skills.
