Rahul Padman

I am a mechanical Engineer with Product Design, Research and Development experience. Following is the short overview of my professional experience.

After receiving Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala in May 2008, I took a position as a Graduate Engineer Trainee with Larsen and Toubro Integrated Engineering Services. The work consisted of designing components (Casting, Sheet metal) for Agricultural vehicles like Tractors and Combine Harvesters. My professional function was to deliver high quality output in terms of 3D Cad designs and Manufacturing Drawings. Three years with the company, I was promoted to Assistant Manager, starting with project management experience and increased responsibilities for deliverables for my team mates. I was also Top Performer for my team at the year 2011.

In Apr 2012 I moved to work for FLSmidth Limited, a world leader in Cements and Minerals processing equipment. I was a Lead Engineer in their R&D team for Product Development. Due to the Economic Turn Down in Europe at that time, my project was on hold and my position was cancelled. I moved out on Feb 2012 to join Stryker.

Since then, I am with Stryker Orthopaedics R&D Team, developing state of the art Implants and Instruments for Total Joint Replacement Applications. We here set our standards high, use cutting edge technology and develop the future of Medical Devices. I generate concepts using 3D softwares, Prototype them and evaluate with the Surgeons at Cadaver Labs. I also interact with cross functional teams for Manufacturing, Risk Management and Reliability, Regulatory and Sterility related inputs. At 7 years of my professional career, I know that have found my area of career interest and that is definitely in Product Development and R&D
