Metering Responsibility :
1. Plan & co-ordinate all metering activities associated with the Maintenance Department.
2. Perform accuracy verification testing on all Fiscal and internal balance measurement systems of both Gas and Crude Oil and Natural Gas Liquids.
3. Installation and commissioning of Fiscal, Custody Transfer, Check and Back-up metering systems.
4. Train client technicians in testing procedures associated with good measurement practices.
5. Act as client representative during the commissioning and maintenance of third party fiscal metering stations.
6. Assist and advise Product Accountants and Process Engineers, resolve queries, disputes etc.
7. To establish and maintain recording and performance monitoring records.
8. To work in close liaison with Client Engineers and Auditors, British Gas Auditors and witness Third Party Engineers and Technicians, Department of Energy Auditors and Project Design teams.
9. Compliance with the following standards:
(i) ISO 5167 & BS1042 fluid flow measurement.
(ii) ISO 6976 calculation of calorific value, density and relative density.
(iii) Department of Energy metering standards for gaseous and liquid petroleum measurement.

Analyzer responsibility :
Carries out preventive and breakdown maintenance and calibration of all on-line (plant) analyzers, laboratory equipment, gas detection system and portable equipment utilized by HSE Department personnel. Includes carrying out various preventive maintenance and calibrations checks of field analyzers in accordance with established weekly schedule (each analyzer is checked at least once weekly). Calibrates
transmitters, vibrating probes, different types of flow meters, gas analyzers including the calibration of weighing scales or any other job associated with process plant, as directed by the Engineers and/or Section Head.

1.) Carries our routine daily checks and calibrations of a wide variety of analyzers
in the Oil, Gas & Power plants such as H2S and O2 analyzers, gas
chromatographs, PH meters,conductivity,Turbidity,Humidity, infra red,clorine,Sox Nox, and thermal Dissolved o2 analyzers etc..
Repairs or rectifies any routine problems as observed and informs Engineer of
any serious abnormalities for his advice and direction .

2.) Carries out routine preventive maintenance on analyzers in accordance with
schedule, such as replacing cylinders for span, carrier or zero gas. Completes
brief work reports giving details of work performed.


3.) Carries out routine check-up of laboratory equipments including gas
chromatograph, gas detection systems, repairing workshop equipment and
equipment used by the HSE Department.


4.) Carried out breakdown maintenance of all analyzers equipment as directed by
Engineer and maintenance of any instrument associated with the distribution
control system in the field and equipment room as assigned. Also replaces
piping up to 3/8 inch diameter/20 bar pressure

Responsibility:
1.)Inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control generating operations & Inspects meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations.
2.)Tests accuracy of flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors, and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments to locate defective components in system, using test equipment, such as pressure gauges, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, and ammeters, voltmeters, and wattmeters
3.)Traces out and tests electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components to locate defective parts in analog and digital, protection, or radiation monitoring systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
4) Removes defective instruments from system, decontaminates, disassembles, and cleans instruments, and replaces defective parts, using handtools.
5) Reassembles instruments and replaces instruments in system, using handtools.
6) Lubricates instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing.
7) Calibrates readings on instruments according to standards and adjusts phasing and aligns stages to ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function.
8) Records calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand.
9) Prepares schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems.
10) May be designated according to type power plant as Gas & Steam Turbine-Instrument Technician; Instrument Repairer, Steam Plant.
