Being a Post Graduate in Electrical Engineering and Professional Registration as Chartered Engineer with Engineering Council, UK, I had a stint of about 15 years with relay manufacturing company The English Electric Co. of India, (having its collaborations with GEC Measurements, UK).
As a seasoned protection engineer I possess, vast, hands on experience in Power system Protective Relaying (Testing, Commissioning, Application, and Design & Engineering of schemes) in India and in the Gulf countries [UAE, Saudi Arabia & Oman (PDO & Power Sector) ]
While working for International Consultancy firms such as Lahmeyer International, Mott Mac Donald, Electrowatt Engineering & Al-Jazeerah Engineers & Consultants, I have excelled in various capacities like Head of Department (Electrical), Protection Engineering Specialist, Design Manager, Resident Engineer, and Protection Engineer where I was responsible for Review and approval of Design Documents, Relays, Protection Schemes, Protection Settings calculations, CT/PT, Devices / components etc. related to 220/33kV and 132/11kV GIS Sub Stations with interconnected 132/220kV Transmission Lines. Witness & accept of Various Site Testing & Commissioning. FAT witness Test of protection relays & panels.
I also had the opportunity to work on Substation Control and Monitoring System. I gained experience to work on Numeric protection relays and three levels of control and Data transfer-Switch gear level, Substation Control room and Remote control room through digital communication. Also relay parameterisation and communication of different manufactures relays having a common protocol.
