Telecommunication Telecom transformers medium voltage high voltage design1. Job Purpose:
•
The main purpose of the telecommunication officer’s job is to manage
the daily operations of all communications and IT equipment onboard all
RVOS vessels.
2. Principal Accountabilities
• Is responsible for the overall planning, supervision and management of the telecommunication networks onboard RVOS vessels.
•
Liaises with the concerned authorities for the provision of radio
licenses and frequencies, and assist with the clearance of radio
equipment.
• Assist in the preparation of the budget linked to telecommunication equipment and systems.
•
Submits, on a regulate basis, communications reports to the head
office, outlining the scope and operational status of the
telecommunications, and the performance and suitability of existing
installations.
• Recommends modifications or upgrading of standardized equipment, to keep abreast of technology development.
• Serves as a focal point for all telecommunication matters on board all RVOS vessels.
•
Complies with established health and safety guidelines and procedures
and ensures the health, safety and welfare of self and others.
• Identifies and reports to management any health, safety or environmental risks and makes suggestions to address these risks.
• Is responsible for the development, performance appraisal and succession planning of all direct and indirect reports.
• Performs miscellaneous task as assigned by his/her direct manager
• Identifies and tracks KPIs for his functions, and devises plans and initiatives for operations improvements.
3. Communications and Working Relationships
• Coordinates with Rawabi Holding IT department for all telecommunication issues and requests
• Manages vessels day to day request and needs linked to networking and internet broadcasting.
4. Knowledge, Skills, experience and qualifications.
•
Degree in electrical, telecommunications, IT engineering or other
related field, with extensive experience in the field of
telecommunications.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the marine industry, in a comparable operation to RVOs
• Hand-on experience with wireless networks in all frequency ranges (HF, VHF, UHF, mobile satellites, wireless LAN, VSAT)
• Excellent interpersonal, communications, organization and presentation skills.
• Previous experience in the GCC is a plus, especially of the experience was in Saudi Arabia
• English fluency is a must; Arabic language is a plus.
