Job Descriptions:
The Facilities Surveillance Engineer will report to the Operations Superintendent and provide a range of engineering, technical and operational support to the asset. He/She will provide technical assistance to offshore personnel, enhancing facility optimization and troublshooting upsets or failures. The Operations Engineer will be focal point between the offshore operations team and onshore discipline engineers and supporting departments to help ensure the ongoing integrity of the production facilities, to optimize productivity and control costs. The position interfaces with production operations, maintenance and engineering support groups in resolving problem areas and identifying upgrades needed for the offshore facilities. It develops and manages scope of work for implementation by 3rd party contractors. These objectives will be achieved via the application of the Production Excellence expectations. This position will be office based with regular offshore travel to support field operations. Ad-hoc domestic travel may be required as operations dictate (i.e. equipment teardown, HAZOP).
Responsibilities Include:
Provide real time support to the offshore production operations team in all aspects of production management and optimization
Generate ideas for discussion, approval and implementation that optimize facility or well performance, maximize oil recovery and reduce cost while supporting company safety objectives.
Plan, develop and coordinate execution of subsea troubleshooting campaigns, inspections and routine interventions
Plan, develop and coordinate execution of flowback equipment and procedures for well start-ups
Provide troubleshooting support for process upset events; ensure specialist technical support engaged as need identified.
Ensure relevant engineering documents and technical aspects associated with Operating Procedures are current
Develop and implement procedures for non-routine operations, perform Pre Startup Safety / Readiness reviews and ensure compliance with Management of Change Process
Support the Production Supervisor in ensuring complaince with CFR and other applicable regulations
Assist in the preparation of the annual Opex budget and monthly tracking of actuals vs budget
Support Operations Management in development and maintenance of data dashboards showing facility performance and identifing gaps; Apply lean principles and develop Kaizen (A3) to address same
Ownership of the process to collect, analyze, document and communicate appropriate production data
Provide technical specification content for service and equipment contract implementation
Work with the Production Engineering team to develop well operating guidelines and oversee implementation of and adherence to the same to deliver production and reserve targets. Troubleshoot well productivity issues using appropriate industry recognized diagnostic tools
Assist with the mentoring and development of the junior engineers
