• Participate with other members of the executive team in creating, communicating, and implementing the organization’s vision, mission, and overall direction.
• Determine the strategic direction of the division in collaboration with the Executive Team.
• Lead the strategic plan that includes financial forecast/projections, business strategy, brand strategy, market assessment, product opportunities, and operational priorities for the Transmission Construction business.
• Ensure maintaining strong relations with key clients at all times through periodic communication and meetings.
• Ensure the overall smooth and successful execution of all AIC transmission line related projects in the region.
• Ensure that, as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness.
• Continuously explore business development opportunities either directly or through the concerned general manager, play an active role in senior-level negotiations with client companies and manufacturing partners.
• Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards, and so forth.
• Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins in addition to further required investment into the business.
• Achieve the overall strategic goals and profitability requirements set for the Power Transmission division, as determined in the set strategic plans.
• Evaluate the overall success of structural steel operations by articulating and periodically measuring a set of key performance indicators that are aimed to assess the overall success of the division.
• Foster, promote and facilitate cross-selling of company-wide products, services and capabilities in order to capitalize on the production capacities available at AIC plants.
• Ensure the smooth communication and collaboration flow amongst the general managers of the divisions in a matter that promotes continuous knowledge and experience sharing resulting in the overall optimization and improvement of performance.
• Ensure stringent application of world class Quality, Health, Safety and Environment policies on all plants and sites of operation while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements of relevance.
• Reporting on the overall financial performance of the division through demonstrating compliance with preset budgets, targets and plans while providing justifications and recommendations on handling any areas of development.
• Act as a mentor and coach to team members in order to maintain their overall professional and personal development reflective on performance.
• Oversee and strategically manage all contractual aspects of the major undertaken projects while ensuring proper financial accountability for delivery.
Candidates must demonstrate the following;
• Proven track record in developing and/ or expanding power transmission business lines across multiple geographies.
• Ability of strategically leading business through successful articulation and implementation of business strategies that have performed according to board expectations.
• Entrepreneurial capabilities of establishing businesses from scratch with proper awareness to investment and risk issues.
• Ability to articulate and/ or analyze business plans and financial models.
• Entrepreneurial attitude combined with a high degree of personal integrity and strong work ethic.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability of structuring deals with internal and external partners.
• Excellent networking capabilities and skills in building strategic relations that can potentially materialize on the short, medium or long term.
• Highly proficient in business negotiations and deal closing with advanced communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, culturally-diverse and demanding environment across multiple geographies.
• A leader by inspiration, able to driving the best out of his senior team members through a clear team atmosphere.
• A hands-on, yet strategically and target-oriented individual that ensures the proper management and guidance of the different operations.
• Strong in strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management.
• Strong planning and risk management skills.
• Preferably from the transmission line construction industry. He should have an extended knowledge of relevant laws, requirements and business practices throughout the GCC region and preferably in the African region with the ability to promote business there.
• An Arabic speaker is preferred to handle projects commissioned by the government in Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
