luent English speaker TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification or experience teaching English as a foreign language.We are looking for people to volunteer as; EAL (English as an Additional Language), ESL (English as a Second Language) or ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) tutors with ambitious young people from disadvantaged backgrounds from secondary schools across the U.K. Our programmes start running towards the beginning of each school term and you’ll be able to pick a time that is right for you. Training and specialist resources will also be provided.
The programme is entirely free-of-cost to the school with all costs being covered through grants, local business sponsorships and donations. Our ultimate vision is to empower schools and give every pupil access to one-to-one support and we will be working to make this dream a reality over the coming year.
Teaching Online:
Our tutors find online tutoring enjoyable, impactful and convenient for the following reasons:
Tutors don’t need to travel and can teach students in a familiar environment.
Lessons are recorded, allowing quick review of previous sessions and reduce the need for repeated lessons.
The level of student engagement is significantly improved through the interactive virtual whiteboard - allowing tutors to share an array of media content (e.g PDFs, Youtube videos etc).
About You:
As a volunteer tutor, you’ll need:
A strong passion to make a difference to some of the most disadvantaged students in the UK.
You need to be a fluent English speaker.
TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification or experience teaching English as a foreign language.
Provide online one-to-one tutoring support for 1 hour a week. (or opt for more).
