• Participate in the management of the daily care of inpatients, including undertaking routine and special investigations and drug therapy.
• Conduct primary medical care of patients admitted
• Attend ward rounds with consulting staff, as required, and be available to discuss patient treatment plans.
• Inform admitting consultants of changes in medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken.
• Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regime for each individual patient.
• Perform clinical procedures as requested by consultant medical staff and nursing staff, these may include phlebotomy and the giving of intravenous drugs to patients.
• Visit patients as required at the request of the nursing staff.
• Issuing Prescriptions and Authorizing Discharge Summary.
Master Health Checkup related
• A Medical Officer performs primary check-ups of the patients and makes sure that they are admitted to the concerned doctors
• They check for temperature and any primary signs and symptoms in the patients which the doctor can use for the further diagnostic purpose
• They verify birth certificates and previous health reports submitted by the patients and highlights important points from them which are helpful for the doctor in the treatment
and over test reports to the doctors.
• Perform certain clerical duties such as maintaining important papers and records of the patients.
• Order equipments and infrastructure required in the hospital.
