Job Title: Medical Coordinator (M/F)
Location: Maiduguri, Borno State
Tasks and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the general coordinator, you guarantee that the medical activities implemented through the project are in line with MdM’s strategy, policies and principles.
You are responsible of every medical aspect of the program.
More specifically, your responsibilities are to:
Supervise the implementation of MdM’s activities, proactively monitoring the context and health response, subsequently sharing any proposition in case of context change
Lead the development of the general strategy on medical activities with the general coordinator, HQ referent and the team
React to any change by adapting the program if necessary and conduct rapid health assessments when requested
Participate to the monitoring on a regular basis and set up corrective measures in case of need
Supervise and provide support to the medical team
Be responsible for ensuring the team capacity building
Support and supervise the health programme coordinator
Supervise the data base officer to ensure that all data from the field reaches in a timely manner
Identify needs of medical staff, draft job profiles and validate recruitment from a technical point of view
Conduct regular performance appraisals with directly supervised staff (quarterly basis)
Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the medical purchase process in close collaboration with the logistics coordinator
Ensure the supervision of the pharmacy
Participate to the different MdM meetings and to external medical meetings especially on health and nutrition Cluster
Lead on liaison with the MoH authorities and with health actors
Be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the medical programme
Analyse the medical data received on a weekly basis and submit weekly reports
Participate in the writing of donor’s activity reports and proposals
Skills and Experience Needed:
Medical doctor, nurse or midwife diploma
Significant experience in public health and/or project coordination
Experience in humanitarian response
Experience in working within the cluster system
Knowledge in primary health care and sexual reproductive health
Experience in supervising health promotion activities
Experience in working with local authorities, partners
Ability to manage a multi-national team
Reactivity, anticipation, adaptability
Excellent organizational skills
Good writing, computer and communication skills
Capacity to work and to live in tense conditions
Languages: fluent English is required.

Conditions of Employment
Status: Employee Contract: Fixed-term contract
Duration: 6 to 9 months
Based in Maiduguri
Starting date: ASAP 2700 gross monthly salary on 13 months
Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)
