Manager - Dispatch & Logistics

Objective of the role :

1. To ensure dispatches based on deadline/s and ensure/s on-time delivery to the Clients / customers.

2. Logistic Cost reduction.

3. Premium Freight cost reduction.

4. Close Follow up on C forms.

5. Knowledge of Online Road permits.

6. Fixation of Freight rates with transporters.

7. Proper utilisation of available manpower.

To manage incoming and outgoing movement and delivery of materials on time in full through arrangement of vehicles as per plan, by monitoring deliveries and controlling Service providers.

Support Logistics Executive in Drawing Logistic contract, month end analysis of Spend, service measurement and Check post issues if any.

Key Areas of Responsibility :

ESSENTIAL:

• To plan availability of Vehicles for transportation based on daily despatch plan (Outgoing) and pick up from suppliers (Incoming) based on purchase plan.

• Constantly monitor and ensure optimum load ability of trucks to save on freight.

• Monitor movement of material and be responsible for on time delivery and receipts. trouble shoot in case of non-deliveries.

• Support Logistics executive in developing logistic alternatives and in freight negotiations.

• Review and check documentation, arrange Survey for damage and breakage claims with Insurance companies.

• Knowledge of freight rates and freight management domestic as well as International. Must have thorough knowledge of container rates, its stuffing and port clearance procedure etc.

SECONDARY:

• Coordination on payment to service providers with finance.

• Coordinate with factory and trouble shoot vehicle availability on daily basis.

• Support Logistic executive in reports and analysis of Logistics spend.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 10-12 years’ experience in handling transportation /Despatch planning

• Good co-ordination capabilities across functions is critical for the role.

• Good Knowledge of Geographical spread of the country /routes /and Transport network is essential for this role.

• Knowledge of Transport rules and regulations is critical for this role.

• Knowledge of Hazardous nature of products and safety aspects.

• Good Communication skills including local language.
