4.1 Responsible and accountable for overall operations of Bio medical department.
4.2 To ensure the performance of the biomedical department in meeting the quality standards set forth.
4.3 To co-ordinate and co-operate with management for organizational planning, strategies and program for improvement / expansion, renovation and overall performance of the organization.
4.4 To provide managerial support to the biomedical team in minimizing down time loses in day to day departmental activities.
4.5 To ensure that all the equipment spares and involved accessories are budgeted for inventory and to present the budget reports annually.

5.1 Leadership
5.1.1 To maintain the ISO quality standards and ensure its implementation.
5.1.2 Guide and coordinate with the staff and user departments to develop goals and objectives.
5.1.3 Coordinate with team for development and implementation.
5.1.4 Efficient training provided to the staff to be customer friendly.
5.1.5 To ensure the sufficient technical training is imparted to staff and end user departments for effective usage of Biomed equipment.
5.1.6 Communicate with the senior management in clear and coherent manner in-order to improve and achieve goals.
5.1.7 Define the road map for development and improvement of the department based on the policies and standards set by the organization.
1. Purchase of equipments (which includes inviting quotations/tenders for purchasing new equipments/machines & preparing comparison chart for the same).
2. Writing specifications for all the new equipments & machinery.
3. Evaluating the equipment &machinery on the basis of its initial cost as well as its operating cost: since many times, the high maintenance & operating cost of the equipment turns out to be much higher than the initial cost.
4. Inspection of incoming equipment & machinery and doing pre-acceptance checks before official acceptance & payment.
5. Maintaining records; for e.g. equipment history.
6. Setting standards & ensuring their compliance.
7. Maintaining the equipment to the best of its performance by organizing a planned maintenance program for all equipments and attending to emergency breakdowns and repairs.
8. Arranging for training programs for personnel in clinical
engineering
department as well as the end users.
9. Advising & providing expertise to the medical staff & administration.
10. Maintaining equipment inventory for all existing & incoming equipments.
11. Active involvement in the activities of the hospitals safety committee & checking safety hazards.
12. Monitoring contract services viz. A.M.C. and C.M.C.
13. Keeping record of the Spares/consumable items.
