RESPONSIBILITIES
The L2 Managed Services Engineer (MHS) responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Plan, design and implement NOC projects and customer solutions and configuration changes (e.g. Firewalls, DNS, switch configurations, operating systems configurations, etc.)
• Provide technical support on all Data Centre products and solutions. This includes being part of the after working hours and days on-call rotation support and advanced problem resolution and Handling of technical problems escalated from Level 1. This may involve extensive after-hours work, remotely and onsite, including nights, weekends and official holidays to resolve critical problems and/or deliver high priority projects and/or perform critical network/system maintenance
• Provide adequate technical tools for monitoring and managing systems and networks. Maintain and monitor the Data Centre and NOC infrastructure
• Reports creation, validation & distribution
• Procedures creation/initiation, validation and maintenance
• Perform acceptance tests of the service with the customer. Documentation of installation set-up and configuration
• Act as project manager on customer projects, and internal NOC projects
• Assist in other related activities and projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in System and Network Administration
• Computer and Communications Engineer (CCE) or equivalent
• Experience in System Administration (Installation, Configuration, and Management):
o Operating Systems: Windows Servers, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, Solaris
o OSS Software: Monitoring platforms (e.g. HPOV, Spectrum, Orion)
o Backup solutions: preferably Symantec Netbackup or EMC Networker
o Service Desk platform: preferably Remedy, OTRS
o Database solutions like Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MySQL
o Microsoft platforms like SharePoint, Exchange, Active Directory, etc.
o Scripting and automation
• Experience in Network Administration (Installation, Configuration, and Management): Cisco and/or Juniper products, dynamic routing, switching and VLANs, security (firewalls and intrusion detection systems), load balancing, etc.
• Systematic and process/procedures oriented with good troubleshooting skills
• Experience in Project Management, PMP or Prince2 is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially in English and Arabic (Arabic required for Qatar)
• ITIL/other relevant certification is a plus
• Ability to perform well under high pressure within customer/partner premises/environment
• Knowledge in:

Storage "EMC & NetApp" and its components (On priority)
o
Basic knowledge in HyperV, VMware, Windows OS, Linux OS. Databases (Oracle)
o
Virtualization "vmware & HyperV" (On priority)
o
Advanced knowledge in Windows 2012 and 2008
o
MS SharePoint, DNS, Backup tools
o
Basic knowledge in Linux OS
