1.Specific Duties and Responsibilities :
a)To clean, wash and dries all items processed through the dishwashing area, using the machinery, equipment and products provided.
b)To return cleaned items to respective areas.
c)To ensure proper handling of all items, machinery and equipment.
d)To ensure cleanliness of all washing up and cleaning machinery and that equipment is in proper working order. Reports faults to his supervisor.
e)To demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance at all times thus identifying a high level of commitment.
2. General Responsibilities
a)Cleans kitchen including floors and halls as directed.
b)Cleans refrigerators, cupboards, hot plates and other fixtures as directed.
c)Cleans stoves, storage racks and other equipment after each service.
d)Ensures that through efficient work practices a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is achieved.
e)Takes refuse bins to refuse area for disposal/collection.
f)Checks refuse for equipment thrown by mistake.
g)Cleans refuse area as per established schedule.
3 Occasional Responsibilities
a)Attends training sessions and / or departmental meetings if and when assigned.
b)Performs any other appropriate task if and when given to by his superiors.
c)Learns the fire and safety precautions and in particular those concerning the machinery and equipment used in the dishwashing and kitchen areas. Learns how to operate the kitchen fire fighting equipment.
