Software Solutions Engineer – Java Developer

As a Software Solutions Engineer within Medallia’s Customer Applications team you will be accountable for developing custom software that bridges the core-functionality of the Medallia SaaS platform with specific and/or unique customer needs. In this capacity you will be responsible for architecting, designing and developing made-to-order extensions to the core Medallia product. You will work closely with customer-facing Medallians around the world in order to master the agile development process, write reliable and maintainable code, and ultimately delight Medallia's customers beyond expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to facilitating communications with internal and external stakeholders
• Assist in requirement scoping and planning
• Design and develop custom software, including reusable components and infrastructure
• Play a critical role in continuous improvement of engineering processes
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of industry experience working backend, front-end, or systems engineering
• 2+ years of development experience on Core Java/J2EE
• Understanding of web applications development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX)
• Good experience in database
• Experience on Batch , Scheduler planning and execution
• Hands on unit testing methodology (Junit and others)
• knowledge of CI (continuous integration)
• Bug tracking tool knowledge
• Experience on business implementation (apart from font end)
• Commitment to quality with a history of shipping software on time and within scope/budget
• Passion for technologies that alleviate pain points for customers and customer-facing teams
• Overwhelming customer/user empathy, with a desire to make the world a better place
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other technical field preferred
