JOB OBJECTIVES: This position is responsible for the direction, planning, and coordination of Corporate purchasing and procurement activities in support of the current business plan. Optimizes the Supply Chain through systematic support. Ensures that purchased and procurement of goods support quality, cost, inventory and service level standards. Continually evaluates the timely adjustment of purchasing strategy and plans to meet changing economic and competitive conditions. Responsible for adherence to Company policies and practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Develops and executes purchasing and procurement strategies, plans, programs and systems, both short and long range, to ensure achievement of Company objectives.
2. Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures, purchase order and change notice records, and analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future availability and prepares market analysis reports.
3. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to Company policy.
4. Manages the mailroom operation, special client fulfillment projects, shipping and receiving functions, and copier maintenance.
5. Routinely conducts department internal audits and seeks remedies to ensure conformance with department policies, procedures and quality specifications.
6. Actively supports and provides leadership for the Company's Total Quality Management initiative and routinely focuses employees on customer needs and requirements.
7. Develops and implements appropriate personal objectives that support each fiscal year’s department objectives and the overall Company business plan.
8. Establishes, monitors, and controls purchasing departmental budget in accordance with the projected Business Plan.
9. Maintains awareness of key market trends and pricing as well as the development of new materials or products and recommends and/or councils others on these changes. Advises Finance, Marketing, Sales, and management on current and future price, availability and delivery schedules.
