Job Purpose
The purpose of the IT Security Specialist’s job is to develop and supervise all IT security measures in Rawabi Holding
Principal Accountabilities
Supports the Planning & Control Unit Head in evaluating Rawabi Holding’s IT Security needs and in developing an overall IT strategy aligned with the organization’s business objectives
Supports the Planning & Control Unit Head in the development of the IT Security budget
Ensures a secure operation of Rawabi Holding’s IT network, including intranet, internet, and email access
Ensures a secure network
Defines and implements IT security strategies ensuring it meets business requirements, as well as regulatory and international security standards
Ensures that system users do not get the ability to compromise information confidentiality, integrity, and availability
Develops processes for conducting risk assessment, forensic analysis, and security incident response, and identifies foreseeable IT security risks
Monitors compliance of IT security procedures and policies
Provides direct oversight and security training to all employees to create IT security awareness
Writes required reports to document computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures and test results
Keeps up to date with new IT security developments and security systems
Shares important security information with end users via e-mail to send out alerts about new threats (for example, computer viruses)
Identifies and tracks KPIs for IT Security, and devises plans and initiatives for improvement
Supports the Infrastructure Unit Head in developing IT security capabilities
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Complies with established health and safety guidelines and procedures and ensures the health, safety and welfare of self and others
Identifies and reports to management any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and makes suggestions to address these risks and co-operate with his/her supervisor’s instructions.
Communications and Working Relationships
24/7 availability on callout for emergency situations
Interacts with the Infrastructure Unit Head to develop desirable IT security program, and recommends appropriate measures
Interacts with external IT suppliers relevant for IT security
Communicates well with users, other computer specialists, and managers throughout the organization
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
University Degree in an IT related field or Management degree with relevant experience in an IT related industry
3 to 5 years of experience in information security position
Experience in developing and administering a desirable IT Security program
Experience in managing, and configuring UTM appliances combine firewall, gateway anti-virus, and intrusion detection system (IDS) or intrusion prevention capabilities.
Working knowledge of and experience in the policy and regulatory environment of information security.
Strong interpersonal, communications, administration, and problem-solving skills
Creativity in resolving complex issue surrounding business process and technical challenges
Ability to work as a team to meet the requirements of the business across organizational lines
High level of commitment and positive attitude on achieving both departmental and business objectives
Solid knowledge of Networking, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP is required
CCNA and/or CCNP Certification is desirable
ITIL V3 Foundation Certification is desirable
Ability to remain alert while performing routine tasks
Physical Requirements of the Job - If Applicable
The job of the IT Security Officer may require local travel
Limited occasional work outside of working hours
