Areas of Responsibility Reconciliation and monitoring of Bank, Suspense & Control accounts Allocation/ transfer of funds generated Ensure that accounts have been reconciled Stop / Cancel Cheques / BACS recalls and Tracers Investigate and clear amounts in Various suspense accounts Accountabilities/Responsibilities Ensure daily production operates within SLA by undertaking and completing assigned tasks on time Ensure all accounts owned by the area are regularly reconciled and that outstanding items are reduced to a minimum and are within agreed SLA’s. To meticulously follow-up in clearing historic outstanding items Ensure all Financial Control procedures are followed, adhere to compliance and regulatory requirements as defined for the team Handle straightforward problems or queries promptly and accurately, referring complex enquires or complaints for assistance Produce daily and monthly management information on departmental throughput Act as a good team player, supporting colleagues, sharing information, getting cross-trained and offering assistance when needed Updating SOPs as instructed Suggest feasible improvements to the process, achieve continuous productivity and quality improvements Extensive follow-up with various Customer services teams, Financial institutions and Banks for analysis of receipts and Payments Maintain and implement personal development plan in partnership with immediate manager To demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: An understanding of basic Double entry Accounting and good understanding of financial reconciliations and banking operations Knowledge of Data Protection Act and Money Laundering Good knowledge of MS Excel / MS Access / TLM / PeopleSoft Finance Strong communication skills, both oral & written Business writing Skills Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills Good interpersonal skills.
