Job Description:
The DevOps engineer will be part of the core team members within our technology's new platform of products. You will play a key role in the new technology development and deployment. Responsibilities include but not limited to: automation, build, package, dependency management, deployment, tools and monitoring, A and B version tests, and system topology design input.
Primary Duties
• Understand the needs and challenges of a team that span development and operations, partner to formulate solutions that support both business and technical strategies and goals
• Python developer with release engineering experience
• Develop solutions for technology, process, people, and practices for build and release management, application lifecycle changes, operation service delivery and support
• Be a trusted partner and provide technical leadership across all areas of the build, release, and operations, to ensure the delivery of exceptional technical solutions
• Maintaining strong hands-on expertise and knowledge of current technology stack, as well as emerging processes, techniques and tools.
• Advocate of Continuous Integration and Delivery practice
• Deploy, maintain and scale Web applications
• Collaborate with developers to design, build, deploy, and evolve sophisticated systems
• Collaborate with cross functional teams including systems, operations and performance testing teams
• Setup and maintain continuous integration environments
• Troubleshoot and debug web and application servers for system and application issues
Required Skills:
• 3-5 yrs DevOps experience, release engineering/continuous integration
• Ability to code and script (Python)
• Proficient w/Unix/Linux shells, tools & utilities
• Expert in Linux system administration
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Red Hat
• High proficiency in Python scripting
• Strong grasp of automation tools (not specific)
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
• High proficiency with server side configuration and deployment
• Python, Apache, Jenkins, MRG, Mule ESB
• Strong experience in scaling web apps/knowledge about performance metrics
• Experience with Nagios
