CNC OPERATOR

Job Purpose:

Programming and operation of cnc milling machine .

Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine;

maintaining quality and safety standards;

keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* operation of cnc milling machine seimens control 810 D.

* Read and interpret blueprints to comprehend work orders

* Plan machining activities keeping in mind the work orders and engineering plans

* Safely load and unload castings and raw materials into the machinery

* Safely load and unload castings and raw materials into the machinery

* Follow the machining process from the very beginning to the end to ensure quality of parts

* Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality

* Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work-pieces

Skills and competencies

* Functional and Technical Skills

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to read and interpret common scientific and technical journals and blueprints.

* Ability to apply concepts such as basic fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Knowledge

* CNC Machine operating

* Must have the ability to read blueprints.

* Knowledge of metal shop work.

* Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment.
