Cardiac Perfusionist cardiovascular perfusionistTo conducts extra corporeal circulation and ensure the safe management of physiological functions artificially by monitoring the necessary variables and vital parameters of the patient during surgical and/ or critically interventional invasive procedures
To perform Perfusion (extra corporeal circulation) procedures which involve specialized instrumentation and /or advanced life-support techniques and may include a variety of related functions to control the patients physiological and haemodynamic parameters
To provide consultation to the Consultants in the selection of the appropriate equipments and techniques to be used during extracorporeal circulation.
To administer blood products, anesthetic agents, or appropriate drugs through the extracorporeal circuit on prescription and/or appropriate working protocol and / or by discussing with Anesthesiologist.
Will be responsible for monitoring blood gases values, adequate anticoagulation of the patient, induction of hypothermia and hem dilution (control).
Responsible for providing necessary perfusion related gadgets (materials) for the surgical procedures whatsoever require
Too give valuable inputs regarding the purchase of equipments and various perfusion gadgets (ranging from Neo- Nate to Geriatrics).
To share the surgical approach, techniques to scrub nurses to avoid technical discrepancies thereof.
To collect post-op datas about the patient well-being apart from the perfusion related information/ problems to rectify any discrepancies arises if any. Upkeep and maintain all the equipments (perfusion related) in the operation theatre including SICU and SPICU
Involve in Quality Assurance / Quality control activities
To maintain the record of perfusion parameters and keep it for future guidance, paper presentation and for medical record
To perform the services in the liver transplant
Any other tasks assigned by the HOD and the management.
