Position: Product Design Engineer – Dubai
No of Positions: 2 nos
Company: A leading manufacturing Company
Location: Dubai
Qualification: DME (with Autocad certification)
Exp: 5 to 10 yrs
CTC: 3000 to 4000 Dhirams
Reports to: Design Head
General Details:
Passport: Candidate Should have a Valid Passport.
Visa: Visa will be organized by the Company.
Flight Ticket: Ticket from India to Dubai will be Bourne by the Candidate.
Accommodation: Accommodation will be provided by the Company
Food: Food should be taken care by the Candidate.
Leave: 30 days leave per year .
Free Flight Tickets: Company Sponsor free flight tickets to return home once in Two years.

Job Description
Position Summary
Preparation of Shop drawing as required getting it approved, placing orders for the fabrication
Scope & Responsibilities
Contact the client
1) Receive the available information from sales & projects manager
2) Review the files- Contract /P.O, understand the specification, cost estimation, payment condition, delivery time, site location & shop drawing submission dates
3) You are required to make contact with the client upon receipt of file and understand when do they require the shop drawing and the delivery of door.
4) Visit the site if it is ready and take site measurement.
5) Discuss about installation requirement of every shutter / curtain, push button location structure availability, alternative structure required, details of the power source available & required details of the fire alarm signal required & available. Any other details required in the specification.
Shop drawing preparation
1) Obtain necessary information such as architectural. Structural, Reflected , ceiling plan etc. in soft / hard copies required to prepare the shop drawing
2) Obtain the details of the relevant trades to prepare the coordination drawing,
3) Preparation of shop drawing in discussion with the contractor/client architect & site condition.
4) Check the drawings for specification, client requirements & site condition.
Follow-up & the approval
1) Follow-up & get approved of shop drawings from clients within the time permitted in the project planning schedule.
2) If the shop drawing approval is delayed or exceeding the time agreed, please send a letter on the delay. Make use of standard letters.
3) Follow it up until it is approved. Record the follow up details.
Site Survey & Placing orders
1) Upon approval of shop drawing, visit the site again & take measurements, if there is any variation in the sizes
2) When there is any variation in sizes discuss with the client, whether to follow the sizes as per site measurement or approved shop drawing.
3) If the contactors advise us to proceed as per site measurement, you are required to write and confirm the sizes with which you are proceeding with the work
4) Prepare the order sheet as per the specification, the approved shop drawing, site. Measurement and cost estimation sheet
5) Please advice the project Manager about any variation in sizes /Specification in the standard format available.
6) Make sure the supplier / factory fully understand your order sheet details and get the delivery date required
7)Record the understanding reached with the client as regarding any MEP relocation/ colors /finish / issues etc.
8) Highlight the impact of certain request /Instruction from clients in writing.
9) Send a letter / mail indicating the size you are following for the fabricator when the site is not ready.
10) Pass the copy of PO to Logistic department, accounts, project Manager.
11) If there is any cost variation between budgeted and the cost of PO, Please highlight to Director attention.
As built-drawing & Operation & Maintenance Manual
1) Understand the format of As-built drawing required, O & M Manual required by the client to prepare the documents accordingly to the quantity, media required by the client
2) Preparation of As-built drawing as soon as product is ordered
3) Submit the same as soon as the installation completed.
4) Prepare the operation & maintenance manual as per the project specification & submit for the approval
5) All the documents such as drawings, O & M manual etc., should be submitted only with the transmittals.
6) File the signed copy of the transmittals in the transmittal file
7) Maintain a library of the O & M manual done for various clients, which can be edited & used for other clients
Drawing for the Fabrication & installation
1) Please attach the approved shop drawing along with the order sheet for fabrication.
2) Shop drawings to be provided for the installation team prior to the commencement of installation with the chop “Issued for Installation”.
Capabilities to be achieved within 6 months period
a) Ability to read the project file and understand the project specification, specification with which our quote was made. Project schedules, costs allowed for variable heads.
b) Good understanding about all the company’s products
c) Clear understanding of side room, head room, box sizes, power, structural requirement of all of FERCO’s Products
d) Ability to meet the client, understand the requirement and prepare the shop drawing independently.
e) Ability to take the site requirement for all the products
f) Ability to prepare the order sheets for all the products
Ability to communicate the understanding reached with the client effectively & clearly
