THE HISTORY OF ALPINE WINERIES :

In 2007 Mr. Raghavendra Gowda, the visionary founder of Alpine Wineries Private Limited, took the lead in planting the first grape vines in the beautiful Mysore-Mandya region. Alpine Wineries is part of SPR Group, a well-known diversified business entity that has existed for over three decades. After a continuous learning programme and eight years of studies in Europe, Mr. Raghavendra Gowda has made a dream come true, with the ambition of offering you the finest and most sophisticated wines made in a Garden of Eden.

The acknowledgement by the government of the Kaveri Valley as a new appellation region in Karnataka within only four years makes us proud and proves that we have found and developed a great potential that will create a new dimension in the art of making wine in India.

This accomplishment marks another milestone in Alpine Wineries’ evolution. Unique in India, our vineyard encompasses an area of about 100 hectares in one stretch in a total area of 500 hectares, using the best vineyard equipment and the most advanced viticulture and winemaking technologies.

After numerous experiments, twelve noble grape varieties (six red and six white) were selected and planted. The performance and behaviour of these vines were successfully studied for their adaptability to the Kaveri Valley belt.
